Fee deferrals

The tuition payment deadline date for the Winter 2022 Semester is Monday, December 13. Read information on how to pay your fees on this page.

If you are relying on student loans to pay your tuition fees, you will not receive the funds by the tuition deadline date, therefore, a fee deferral must be entered onto your student record before the payment deadline date to avoid being dropped from classes.

Winter 2022 Semester: Fee deferrals will be on student accounts beginning Friday, December 10.

In order to be eligible for a fee deferral and avoid being dropped from your courses for non-payment, you must qualify under one of the following categories:

BC/Canada Student Loan

  1. If you have applied for a Winter BC Student Loan, before the payment deadline date, an automatic fee deferral will be applied to your student record
  2. Check if your fee deferral is in place by logging in to your myAccount > Student Records > View Holds.
  3. If you do not see the Fee Deferral in your myAccount by Tuesday, December 14 at 9am, please contact Enrolment Services and show proof that you have applied for a BC Student loan (ex. a screen shot of your SABC application)

Out-of-Province Student Loan

  1. If you have applied for an out-of-province Student Loan, before the payment deadline date, and notified Enrolment Services, a fee deferral should have been applied to your student record
  2. Check if your fee deferral is in place by logging in to myAccount > Student Records > View Holds.
  3. If you do not see the Fee Deferral in your myAccount by Tuesday, December 14 at 9am, please contact Enrolment Services and show proof that you have applied for an out-of-province Student loan (ex. a screen shot of your application)

Scholarship Funding:

  1. If you are receiving a Scholarship, request a fee deferral before Monday, December 13 at 4 pm, by contacting studentawards@douglascollege.ca.

***Fee Deferrals expire at the end of the first month of the semester. Please check your myAccount to make sure payment has been received. If your funding is delayed, or if you become ineligible for your loan, it is your responsibility to pay the fees. Students with expired fee deferrals may incur late fees and receive a financial hold on their account.***
