Transfer your credits

If you have completed courses at other post-secondary institutions within the past seven years, you may be eligible to receive transfer credit for your courses at Douglas College.  To have your previous courses evaluated for transfer credit, submit a completed Transfer Credit Request Form by email to transfercredit@douglascollege.ca or drop off in person or by mail to Enrolment Services.

We require Official transcripts to complete your request, and they must be received from your sending institution by Douglas College within 2 weeks of your Request (hand-delivered, photocopies, faxes and emails of transcripts are deemed unofficial and will not be processed).

Please note the following:

  • Please review the Credentials Awarded policy time limits prior to submitting a Transfer Credit Request to ensure your courses are within the time limits to qualify for graduation within your program.
  • Current applicants and students with prior post-secondary education completed within the past 7 years are eligible to submit a Transfer Credit Request to have their courses evaluated for transfer credit to Douglas College. In progress courses will not be evaluated.
  • Detailed course outlines produced by the sending institution are required for each course completed outside of BC. Each outline must contain the curriculum that was taught for the semester/term you attended the course.
  • Detailed course outlines may also be required for courses within BC that have not been previously articulated OR if the course equivalency has not been reviewed within the past 5-7 years.
  • Official translations are required for all official transcripts and Detailed course outlines that are not in English.
  • All transcripts and other documents filed in support of your transfer credit request become the property of Douglas College and will not be returned unless they are deemed irreplaceable.
  • Douglas College awards credits according to the credits established for the equivalent course at Douglas College
  • Failing grades will not receive transfer credit - minimum grade is "D" or "P" for transfer credit purposes
  • Transfer credit becomes part of your Douglas College official student record but is not included in your Douglas College Cumulative GPA.
