Equity, Diversity and Inclusion services on campus

  • Indigenous Student Services - Provides culturally appropriate support services, activities and events in the College and community for Indigenous students. 
  • Accessibility Services - Helps students with barriers to education get the accommodations they need to succeed. 
  • Counselling - Offers free, accessible and confidential mental health support for students. 
  • Douglas Student’s Union (DSU) - Advocates for students’ rights while also hosting inclusive events and activities for vibrant student life at Douglas. 
  • Student Support and Conduct - Identifies and supports students in distress that have experienced harassment on campus. 
  • Student Support Navigator - Provides guidance to students who come from government care, alternative secondary education, or who are first-generation students or mature students. 
  • Vocational Education and Skills Training programs - Helps students with disabilities or barriers to education identify career paths, develop work skills and move on to additional education or employment. 
  • The Training Group – Offers education to support skilled newcomers, youth, mature workers and more. 
  • Open Education Resources - Offers free learning materials to support accessible, affordable and adaptable education for students and faculty.

Employee resource groups

  • Pride Advisory Committee – Advocates and celebrates 2SLGTBQIA+ students, staff, faculty and visitors to promote understanding and acceptance of queer people on our campuses. 
  • Accessibility Committee – Focus on reducing barriers for people living with disabilities (Coming Winter 2023).
