Employers

The Business Development Department partners with businesses and community organizations to help them engage meaningfully with Douglas College and our students. We support employer involvement in programs, projects, research initiatives, and events across the College. Our employer partners contribute in meaningful ways that go well beyond hiring, playing a key role in enriching and supporting the student experience.

Hire a Student

At Douglas College, students are career-focused and keen to launch their careers. Over 60% of our students work while in their programs and are seeking to upgrade to roles more aligned with their studies. Here’s how:

  • Job Board – Post your opportunities – temporary, part- or full-time paid, or volunteer – on our no-cost job board. Click here to access CareerHUB and register for a free user account.

  • Co-operative Education – The program alternates semesters of classroom studies with paid, full-time work related to your program. Co-op Work Terms – the times when you are working full-time and not taking classes – are usually four or eight months.

  • Business Internships – Do you have a project waiting for the right support? An intern could be the perfect solution—ready to begin at the start of each academic term. Students in selected programs within the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration can accept part-time unpaid work (160 hours) in a studies-aligned role through the elective course, Experiential Learning & Internship.

PJ - Storm Guard

We had a great experience with the Douglas College Intern Program. The program structure was carefully thought out, the advisors were there every step of the way and the student we worked with was amazing in helping us manage our workload. Highly recommend this program!
