General New Student Orientation Sessions

Get ready for your first semester by attending an in-person General New Student Orientation Session! They are designed for both domestic and international new students, and are open to parents and supporters as well. During the sessions, we will:

  • give you a look at life on campus through activities

  • walk you through the new student checklist

  • introduce you to student services which support your Douglas journey

Come to connect with peers and have your questions answered! You are welcome to attend the one where you have most of your classes, or to attend both to explore the two campuses.

New International Student Orientation Session

Join Douglas College International for a quick and casual, in-person orientation for international students! 

At this orientation session, you will learn more about Douglas College International and how we support our international students throughout their time at Douglas. 

What you can expect:

  • Hear from our International Student Advising Specialist, who will share important immigration and academic information.
  • Listen to a panel of current international students who will talk about their journey to studying in Canada and at Douglas.

Learn how to register for courses by attending a Registration Workshop online! You will learn how to choose your courses, when to register for courses and how. This is also an opportunity to ask Enrolment Services Advisors questions about course registration. Content of the workshops on November 6 and 13 are the same.

Online orientation course

DCUE 0200 - New Student Orientation is a self-paced online course designed for new Douglas College students. It lives on Blackboard and it covers all the basics of how to get ready for your first semester here. Learn about all the new student essentials such as how to get your student ID card and where to get your textbooks. Discover the students services available to you. Plus, find out how you can get involved in the Douglas College community.

All new students will be automatically enrolled into this course around the 1st week of December. Please check under the "Courses" section on your Blackboard.

*This online course should not be considered a substitute for the in-person General New Student Orientation Sessions.
