Academic Advising and Financial Planning Services

New February 2021: Student Success Advisors

Every student registered in at least one course at Douglas College has been assigned a Student Success Advisor (SSA).  An SSA can assist you with academic and financial planning, and supports you throughout your time here at Douglas.

Who is your Student Success Advisor(SSA)?

Your SSA would have emailed your Douglas College inbox. They are your guide as you embark on your post-secondary journey.

With personally-tailored advice, your SSA can help you with a wide variety of school-related topics and services we provide:

University transfer

*Due to the complex nature of university transfers, we strongly encourage you to confirm course selections with the receiving institution. Douglas College Advisors cannot be held responsible for confirmation of course transferability to receiving institutions.

Not sure who your SSA is? Email us at

While we would love to help you with everything, we cannot choose your program or your courses for you. Picking a program and selecting courses is something you need to consider and do on your own. Consider the field or area you would like to work in, what interests you, and your strengths. If you want to learn more about a discipline, attend an information session or contact the department for further insight. You can also consider speaking with a career counsellor – a free service for our students – or visiting our Career Centre.
