Summer 2023 Semester Academic Dates

Withdrawal and refund deadline dates only apply to standard courses of fifteen weeks in duration, starting on the first calendar week of the semester.

First day of classes.

Fri, May 12 Summer 2023 semester applications close on Education Planner BC at 4:00pm
Sun, May 14 Last day to drop a course and receive 100% refund.
Mon, May 15 - Tue, May 23 Late Registration. Refunds for course drops during this period is 50% per credit.
Fri, May 19 Deadline to apply for transfer credit to ensure credit has been recorded to meet course prerequisite requirements for Summer semester registration.
Fri, May 19 Last day to change from credit to audit status in a course.
Tue, May 16 Deadline to apply for Douglas College Bursaries, Awards, and Scholarships for Summer Semester.

Mon, May 22

Victoria Day - College closed.

Tue, May 23 Last day to drop a course without receiving a "W” on record (subsequent withdrawals receive a grade of "W").
Tue, May 23 Last day to add a course.
Wed, May 24 Fee payment deadline for courses added between April 21 and May 23. Students paying after this date will incur late payment penalties of $25 per registered course. Students will NOT be deregistered from courses after this deadline.
Wed, May 31 Deadline for submission of applications from international students for the Fall 2023 semester.
Thu, Jun 1 Summer 2024 semester applications open on Education Planner BC at 9:00am.

Mon, Jun 12 to Fri, Jun 16

Mid-semester: students may obtain mid-semester standing from instructors during this week in order to make decisions about dropping courses by the course withdrawal deadline of July 10.

Tue, Jun 20 - Fri, Jul 7 Fall 2023 registration - By College priority.
Fri, Jun 23 Outstanding fees for the Summer semester must be paid in full to avoid an additional late payment penalty of $100.

Mon, Aug 21 Deadline to pay tuition fees for the Fall semester for domestic and returning international students.
Mon, Aug 21 - Thu, Aug 24 The registration system (add/drop) and wait-listing pages are unavailable from August 21 to August 24 due to processing of fee payments.
Thu, Aug 24 Grades due at 9:00am for classes with a final exam
Fri, Aug 25 The registration system will reopen at 9:00 am on Friday, August 25 for ALL students. Wait-list offers will be available at 9:00 am August 25 and will expire if not accepted by 11:59 pm Sunday, August 27.
Fri, Aug 25 Deadline for new first-semester international students to withdraw from the Fall 2023 semester and receive a 50% refund or defer admission to the next available semester.
