Disability and Community Studies
For 40 years the DACS department has prepared practitioners in four areas of disability related practice: early intervention, classroom support, community inclusion, post-secondary and employment supports. Thousands of graduates have gone on to apply their learning in support of children and adults in a wide range of environments that include education and social service.
The Douglas College Disability and Community Studies Department participates fully in the BC Transfer System under the aegis of the Human Services Program Articulation Committee. BC Transfer System member institutions adhere to rigorous quality assurance processes and work collaboratively to establish course-to-course transfer and articulation agreements between related public post-secondary programs.
