Blackboard online course

Strong Start: Welcome to Douglas College  is a self-paced, self-enrolled course that lives right in your Blackboard. Learn about all the Douglas College essentials, such as where to find your classes and how to get your student ID. Discover all the services available to you, including one-on-one counselling and tutoring workshops, so you can be a successful student. Plus, find out how you can stay healthy with fitness classes and wellness events, and how you can contribute to the Douglas College community.

Strong Start Blackboard Course will be available beginning August 10 for new students starting in September 2023.

Why should students attend?

Through these sessions, Student Life will provide you your first look at life on campus, tell you about upcoming events, and provide you with information on college services to support you on your academic journey. Orientation for international students

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the New International Student Orientation on August 30th, 31st and September 1st at the New Westminster campus! 

We hope you had a great time meeting your peers, exploring the campus and getting a head start on completing the international student checklist.

Parking info and how to get to campus

Douglas College New Westminster campus is easily accessible by Skytrain and is a short uphill walk on the 8th Street from the New Westminster Skytrain station. To find out more information on how to get to campus, please check Getting to Douglas page

In order to attend virtual workshops you will need to download and install Zoom on a laptop, smartphone or tablet. It's free and will be used throughout the semester for online programming.
