Douglas College Self-Employment Services is one of the largest and most successful entrepreneurial training programs in Canada. An experienced SE Team of business consultants who are entrepreneurs themselves lead participants through dynamic, hands-on training to develop the skills and knowledge needed to start and operate a successful business.
Business planning, classroom training, professional mentoring and group support ensures entrepreneurs acquire the tools needed to plan, launch and grow their business. More than 4,000 businesses have been launched through Douglas College Self-Employment Services since 1995, contributing significantly to our communities and economy.
Phase One | Business Plan Development
Prepare a comprehensive business plan using our detailed and proven planning process. Receive individual consultation and feedback on your plan by Business Consultants and a Community Review Panel of entrepreneurs.
Phase Two | Entrepreneurial Training
Attend training workshops to learn from industry experts how to successfully launch and manage your business.
Phase Three | Ongoing Coaching and Mentoring
Work at your business while receiving support from your business consultant and staying connected to your peers.
There are two different streams to enter the Self-Employment Program.
Applicants pay on their own and participate in all three phases.
