Douglas College launches Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Advanced Supply Chain Management starting Summer 2022

Douglas College students will learn how to keep domestic and global supply chains running smoothly with the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma (PBD) in Advanced Supply Chain Management starting this May.

Graduates of the program will be prepared to meet the worldwide demand for qualified supply chain managers, said Justin Williams, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration (CBA).

“The pandemic has taught us that supply chains play a pivotal role in our economic and social well-being, keeping food on the shelves and fuel in our vehicles,” said Williams. “This diploma launches our graduates into a high-stakes field that every major industry depends on, matching our faculty’s vision to cultivate successful future business leaders.”

Students of the two-year diploma will learn how to buy and acquire product, predict market demand, manage supply processes and much more in preparation to earn the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, Canada’s most sought-after supply chain professional designation.  Douglas’s PBD covers more than three quarters of the required coursework as of the 2021–22 curriculum onwards, outstripping all other schools in B.C., said Michael Lisonbee, Associate Dean of CBA.

“This Post-Baccalaureate Diploma is on track to be B.C.’s premier landing point for a comprehensive supply chain education,” said Lisonbee. “Our program gets students closer to an SCMP designation than any other post-secondary program in the province and most non-master's programs across Canada.”

The PBD joins the roster of supply chain-focused credentials at Douglas, which includes a concentration, a one-year Post-Degree Diploma and another Post-Baccalaureate Diploma focused more heavily on international supply chains.

Douglas College is the largest degree-granting college in B.C., combining the academic foundations of a university and the employer-ready skills of a college to graduate resilient global citizens who adapt, innovate and lead in a changing world.
