Supports available for those affected by Russia/Ukraine crisis

News of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine this week has been shocking and upsetting for many. Those members of the Douglas College community with connections to either or both of these countries may need some additional support at this time. For those who are affected, please look after yourselves and reach out if you need help.  

Douglas College is a close-knit community. If you see someone is struggling, whatever the reason, please let them know you care and remind them of the supports available below.  

For students: 

  • Douglas College Counselling -- Douglas College students have access to free, accessible and confidential support for a variety of concerns that may be affecting your studies or personal well-being 

  • Here2Talk -- Registered B.C. post-secondary students (domestic and international) have access to this free, 24/7, confidential counselling and community referral services available via app, phone and web. 

For employees: 

  • Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) -- the Douglas College Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provides confidential, professional assistance to help Douglas College employees and their family members resolve problems that affect their personal and work lives.
