Human Resource Management Program CPHR NATIONAL KNOWLEDGE EXAM EXEMPTION OPTION

All students who graduate from the Bachelor of Business Administration – Management (Human Resource Management concentration), and who achieve an overall cumulative average of B- in their program, and have been a member of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources – British Columbia & Yukon (CPHR BC & YK) continuously since registering in the aforementioned Douglas College Human Resource Management program will be awarded national knowledge exam [NKE] passing status by CPHR BC & YK and such graduates will not have to write the NKE Exam.

Students wishing to receive the NKE exemption are required to purchase a 25 percent discounted student membership for the CPHR BC & YK. To obtain a discount code, students need to contact a Human Resources course instructor and/or the PDD/PBD Business Program Coordinator.

Concentration in Human Resource Management:
• This concentration is available for all BBA degree students.
• Successful completion of at least 21 credits.
• 12 credits upper level coursework required.
• Concentrations are not noted on the credential but will
be noted on the transcript.
• Students taking this concentration will have completed
the educational requirements for the CPHR industry
credential. For information on additional requirements for
the credential, students will want to contact the Douglas
College Director of Business Programs or the industry body.

Note: Students in a Bachelor of Business Administration
(BBA) program will likely have met all prerequisite
requirements upon entering this concentration. On the
other hand, non-BBA students will need to take special
note of: (a) required prerequisites to ensure they are
able to enroll in the required courses and (b) suggested
courses, skills and/or competencies. This information
can be found  on the Douglas College Course Catalogue

There are no separate admission requirements for a concentration, but students must be enrolled in a BBA degree program in order to complete this concentration.
