Students will receive three hours of lecture/demonstration per week that includes independent work and one-on-one instruction. Guest speakers may be utilized. Students will attend two live productions as part of the homework in this course. Occasional evening travel throughout the lower mainland may be required.

At the end of the course, the successful student should be able to:
- understand employment possibilities available after graduation from the program
- be aware of the organizational structure of theatres, festivals, special event and other industry employers
- be aware of employer’s requirements for entry level employees
- be aware of additional training and professional development opportunities that could be pursued after graduation from the program
- be aware of various unions and professional associations that graduates of the program might join in order to further their employment in the industry
Students are expected to be self-motivated and to demonstrate professionalism, which includes active participation, good attendance, punctuality, effective collaboration, and ability to meet deadlines.

Attendance at various live theatrical productions will involve costs for transportation and admission. Ticket prices will vary but an average of 2 x $20 = $40 is typical.
