Note: Some courses in this program require students to have completed Foundations of Math 11 with a grade of C (some courses may have a higher requirement). Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you check each individual course prerequisite and ensure that you have completed requirements prior to registration. 

Curriculum Framework

Graduation Requirements:

  • Successful completion of 60 credits
  • 25% (15 credits) of all coursework must be completed at Douglas College
  • A University Transferable course is a course that transfer to one of the 5 Research Universities (SFU, UBC, UBCO, UNBC and UVIC) - according to the BC Transfer Guide.
  • A minimum program GPA of 2.00 is required

Notes:     
1. ACCT 1235 can be taken instead of taking both ACCT 1110 and ACCT 1210. Thus, students taking ACCT 1235 can replace ACCT 1210 with an open elective.
2. MATH 1125 may be substituted for this course.
3. PHIL 1102, BUSN 4490 or another approved Ethics course, may be taken instead of PHIL 1122BUSN 1320 and ENGL 1130 (with minimum C grade) are pre-requisites for BUSN 4490.
4. ENGL 1130 transfers directly into degree programs and many other colleges.  Alternatively, students can choose any English, Communications or Creative Writing course that transfers (as English credit) to one of the B.C. research universities. 
5. Students pursuing a BBA degree are strongly recommended to take ENGL 1130 (or CMNS 1115 or CMNS 2316 for a Management Major).  Students exiting to the workplace with the Management Diploma are advised to take one of the listed CMNS courses OR MARK 2150.
6. ECON 1150 and 1250 are required for a BBA degree.
7. For these courses, it is highly recommended that students take them in their final semester in order to maximize their benefit from the course content.
8. Recommendations for electives which match various academic and/or career goals are provided on the Elective Pathways tab at the top of this page.   Students wishing to transfer to a degree program should ensure that 1000-2000 level courses are university transferable, and that no more than five 3000-4000 level courses are non-transferable (see transfer guide at ).
9. BUSN 2429 and BUSN 3380 are highly recommended for students focusing their studies in operations management, small business management and supply chain management. BUSN 2429 is also a required course for all BBA majors.

  • Demonstrate skills for valuing diversity and individual differences in a business environment.
