About the Event & Theme
Our Annual Breastfeeding Education Day brings together healthcare professionals, lactation consultants (IBCLCs), doulas, peer counselors, and community advocates for a day of collaborative learning.
This year, our core focus is how community support drives breastfeeding success. Breastfeeding does not happen in a vacuum. A parents success relies heavily on the strength of their surrounding village including clinical teams, partners, workplaces, digital networks, and grassroots advocacy. We are seeking dynamic presenters who can share insights, strategies, and evidence on expanding this circle of care.
What we are looking for
We are accepting proposals for In-Person Presentations (for local speakers) as well as a select number of Pre-Recorded Online Sessions for our virtual library.
We welcome proposals across three distinct tracks:
| New Research & Clinical Insights | Examples: New data on community-matched peer counseling, clinical outcomes of integrated care teams, or systemic barriers to lactation equity. |
| Storytelling & Lived Experiences | Examples: Narrative-driven presentations showcasing grassroots initiatives, real-world case studies of unique family support models, or patient-led advocacy journeys. |
| Educational & Practical Workshops | Examples: Strategies for engaging non-gestational partners, or frameworks for building breastfeeding friendly workplaces. |
Speaker Benefits
| Professional Visibility: Present your work to a dedicated audience of local and regional lactation advocates and healthcare providers. Networking: Connect with fellow experts, community leaders, and peers in the field. Continuing Education: Opportunity to contribute to L-CERPs/CEUs for attendees (pending approval). Complimentary Access: Selected speakers receive free entry to the full day's educational events. |
Submission Guidelines & Requirements
To submit your proposal, please prepare the following information (form provided below):
| Speaker Biography: Short bio (max 150 words) and a professional headshot. Session Title: A catchy, descriptive title matching our theme. Session Abstract: A brief summary of your topic and its relevance to the community theme (max 300 words). Learning Objectives: Provide 2-3 clear, measurable learning outcomes for your audience. Preferred Delivery Format + Speaking Fee: Specify if you are applying for an In-Person Session (local speakers) or a Pre-Recorded Online Session and requested honorarium/speaking fee for this session. |
