Liz Hagerty

Liz is a Registered Social Worker and Registered Clinical Counsellor with extensive experience across a range of practice settings, including child protection, post-secondary student support, healthcare and mental health, and individual and family counselling. She continues to work in private practice, providing counselling and clinical supervision to social workers and other helping professionals.

As an instructor, Liz brings her practice experience into the classroom and is passionate about helping students connect what they are learning to the realities of social work practice. Her teaching is relational, reflective, and grounded in experiential learning, with an emphasis on creating opportunities for students to build confidence, think critically, and develop their own approach to practice. She strives to create a classroom where students feel supported to ask questions, take risks in their learning, and engage thoughtfully with the complexities of social work.
