About
Fengping Yu is a Chinese language educator with more than a decade of teaching experience in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A native Mandarin speaker trained in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, she is passionate about helping learners build confidence and practical communication skills through learner-centred, communicative, and technology-enhanced instruction.
Her professional interests include Chinese language pedagogy, curriculum and materials design, proficiency-based assessment, heritage language education, and intercultural learning. She has taught at several universities in the United Kingdom and the United States. She has also taught adult and corporate learners in Canada and developed beginner-level Chinese curricula and lessons for Busuu.
Fengping holds an MA in Asian Civilization, specializing in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from United States and a BA in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from China. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, watching films, and visiting museums and art galleries.
