Douglas College > Programs & Courses > Faculties > Language, Literature and Performing Arts > English Upgrading
English upgrading courses (called ENGU courses in the College Program and Course Catalogue) will help you upgrade your reading and writing skills to increase your success in your other college classes. Options range from basic literacy to college preparatory courses.
There is no need to study or cram before taking your placement test. The tests are purely for placement purposes.
Placements are offered throughout the Fall, Winter and Summer semesters on both campuses, but you must register by calling one of the numbers listed below. Make sure you do your placement test before your course registration date.
ENGU and MATU courses are now tuition free for domestic students as of September 1, 2017! For more information on the fee schedule (student fees and U-Pass) contact the English Upgrading office.
