Douglas College’s Advanced Certificate in Applied Audio provides students with the skills, knowledge and access to high-end technology to stand out in a growing industry.

Douglas College launches a new, future-forward audio recording studio, providing music students and industry professionals with access to cutting-edge immersive audio technology.

Adding to the College’s existing suite of recording studios, this third studio features an immersive audio theatre, two isolation booths for Foley, ADR and drum tracking, Audio over IP linking to a 350-seat performance space and more.

“Providing our students with access to these innovative technologies that can be difficult to learn outside of post-secondary, including Wwise and Unreal Engine, means that they graduate equipped to succeed as soon as they enter the industry,” said Hazel Fairbairn, Music Technology Program Coordinator.

Last year, Douglas launched the province’s first Advanced Certificate in Applied Audio, providing industry professionals and music students with the opportunity to upgrade their existing skills and gain hands-on experience with in-demand technologies for live audio, post-production, video game music, mastering and more.
