Winter 2026 Semester Academic Dates

Withdrawal and refund deadline dates only apply to standard courses of fifteen weeks in duration, starting on the first calendar week of the semester.

Thu, Jan 1	New Year's Day - College closed.
Fri, Jan 2	Winter 2026 semester applications close on Education Planner BC at 4:00pm.
Mon, Jan 5	First day of classes.
Sun, Jan 11	Last day to drop a course and receive 100% refund. Note: New Winter 2026 international students must refer to International student deposit refund and deferral policy
Mon Jan 12 to Sun, Jan 18	Refunds for course drops during this period is 50% per credit.
Thu, Jan 15	Deadline to apply for transfer credit to ensure credit has been recorded to meet course pre-requisites for the Summer registration.
Thu, Jan 15	Graduation applications open for Summer graduation ceremonies (June).
Sat, Jan 17	Deadline to apply for Douglas College Winter semester Bursaries, Awards, and Scholarships
Sun, Jan 18	Last day to add a course.
Sun, Jan 18	Last day to change from credit to audit status in a course.
Sun, Jan 18	Last day to drop a course without receiving a "W" on record (subsequent withdrawals receive a notation of "W").
Mon, Jan 19	Fee payment deadline for courses added between Dec 12 and Jan 18. Students paying after this date will incur late payment penalties of $25 per registered course. Students will NOT be deregistered from courses after this deadline.
Sat, Jan 31	Deadline for submission of applications from international students (including all documentation) for the Summer 2026 term.
Mon, Feb 2	Winter 2027 semester applications open on Education Planner BC at 9:00am.
Mon, Feb 16	BC Family Day - College closed.
Tue, Feb 17 to Fri, Feb 20	Winter graduation ceremonies.
Tue, Feb 17 to Fri, Feb 20	Study break - classes cancelled.
Fri, Feb 20	Outstanding fees for the Winter 2026 semester must be paid in full to avoid an additional late payment penalty of $100.
Mon, Mar 9 to Sat, Mar 14	Mid-semester: students may obtain mid-semester standing from instructors during this week in order to make decisions about dropping courses by the course withdrawal deadline of March 16.
Tue, Mar 10 to Fri, Mar 27	Registration - Summer semester - by College priority
Mon, Mar 16	Last day to withdraw from a course and receive a "W" on their record.
Mon, Mar 16	Deadline to apply for full-time, part-time funding and Adult Upgrading Grant funding for the Winter Semester.
Fri, Mar 20	Outstanding fees for the Winter 2026 semester must be paid in full to avoid an additional late payment penalty of $100.
Mon, Mar 30	Graduation application deadline for Summer graduation ceremonies (June).
Tue, Mar 31	Deadline to apply for Fall 2026 Entrance Scholarship and Awards.
Fri, Apr 3	Good Friday - College closed.
Mon, Apr 6	Easter Monday - College closed.
Tue, Apr 14	Last day of classes for Winter semester.
Wed, Apr 15	Applications open for Douglas College Bursaries, Awards and Scholarships for Summer semester.
Wed, Apr 15	Deadline for Summer 2026 study permit confirmation for international students.
Mon, Apr 20	Deadline to pay tuition fees for the Summer 2026 semester for domestic and returning international students. Full fees must be paid to avoid being de-registered from all courses and removed from all waitlists. This will be the only fee deadline that will result in de-registration for non-payment of fees.
Mon, Apr 20 to Thur, Apr 23	The registration system (add/drop) and wait-listing pages are unavailable from Monday, April 20 to Thursday, April 23 due to processing of fee payments, and will reopen at 9:00 am on Friday, April 24 for ALL students.
Thu, Apr 16 to Fri, Apr 24	Examination period.
Fri, Apr 24	The registration system will reopen at 9:00 am on Friday, April 24 for ALL students. Waitlist offers will be available at 9:00 am April 24 and will expire if not accepted by 11:59 pm Sunday, April 26.
Sat, Apr 25	The final deadline for new international students to withdraw from the Summer 2026 semester and receive a partial refund or defer admission to the next available semester. Please refer to the International Student Deposit Refund and Deferral Policy for more details
Thu, Apr 30	Grades due at 9:00 am for classes with or without a final exam
