Douglas College > Study at Douglas > Ways to study > Academic Foundations 3-course packages
Don’t know what you want to study? Explore a variety of arts and science courses through the Certificate in Academic Foundations program, while earning credits you can apply to degree programs at Douglas College or another institution later on.
We offer 3 options: a general Academic Foundations Certificate, an Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing Applicants Certificate and an Academic Foundations for Potential Psychiatric Nursing Applicants. All programs consist of a set of 10 university-transferable courses (30 credits).
If you’re not sure what courses to begin with, you can start off with one of our pre-bundled 3-course (9-credit) Academic Foundations packages. These packages give you priority registration to high-demand courses, a guaranteed 3-day-per-week class schedule and introduce you to other students with similar interests.

Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing Applicants
How to register:
Email Elizabeth McCausland, Academic Foundations Faculty Liaison.
NOTE: You must be enrolled in the designated Academic Foundations program to register, and must register in all three courses in the package. If you do not remain registered in all three courses through to the end of the late registration period, you will be withdrawn from the remaining courses. Withdrawal may affect student loan or other financial aid eligibility. After late registration, you may withdraw from one or more courses in the package following regular Registrar’s Office procedures. This will result in a W on your transcript.
