Douglas College > Study at Douglas > International students > New students > Cultural Connections
Cultural Connections is an exciting student-powered program that is designed to welcome new international students to Douglas College by providing them with a source of friendly support and guidance throughout the semester through trips, actives, events, and workshops.
New international students have the opportunity to engage with continuing students called Mentors. Mentors are a light house for new students by sharing experiences, friendships, and general student life information. We host weekly events, outings, or activities giving students and Ambassadors a space to disconnect from work and school and connect with each other and our surroundings. Activities include student lead workshops, downtown tours, trips to Whistler, hiking around the Vancouver area, picnics, festivals, and more. We try to keep all activities low cost or free and transit friendly.
Any new international student is welcome to sign up to participate. We open sign-ups at the beginning of every semester as we welcome hundreds of new students. Sign ups are OPEN for Fall 2019. You can sign up to participate here. Look for us at International Student Orientation and on social media.
