Exam Accommodations
Exam accommodations are changes in when, where, or how you complete an exam. These accommodations also apply to quizzes, tests, and mid-terms.

Some examples of exam accommodations are:

  • Extra time to complete an exam
  • Writing in a room where visual and auditory distractions are reduced
  • Using technology such as read aloud or dictation software

You can talk to your Accessibility Specialist about what exam accommodations might work for you and your courses.

Arranging Exam Accommodations

  • If exam accommodations are included in your accommodation plan, you will need to work with your instructor and/or Accessibility Services to make sure arrangements are in place for each quiz, test, or exam.
  • If you are writing your exams with Accessibility Services, a completed Request for Exam Invigilation Form must be received at ASExams@douglascollege.ca at least 5 week days before your exam date.
  • If you have questions about how to arrange your exam accommodations, please contact your Accessibility Specialist or email ASExams@douglascollege.ca.
