Kaltura

What is Kaltura?

Kaltura is a campus media repository used within Blackboard that allows users to upload, store, organize, and share media for learning purposes. Instructors and students can integrate lectures, submit video assignments, upload videos or record from a webcam, publish, search, and create clips from existing video content, and reuse videos across courses.

Depending on how your course is designed, videos may be deployed on the Home Page in the My Media module or within a specific course content area.

If your instructor is using Kaltura in your course

  1. Log in to the Blackboard Community.
  2. Click Student Resources in the top green horizontal menu. There are three tabs at the top left of the screen: General, How To, and Career Centre. Click each tab to view its contents.
  3. Now click the General tab. Now click on Get Started with Blackboard. This isan actual Blackboard course for students, which enables you to interact with Blackboard tools and features that may be used in your courses.
  4. In the left navigation bar, click Upload Video to Kaltura to view the resources available. If you want to try out uploading your video, be sure to enrol in the course by clicking the Enrol button at the bottom of the left navigation bar.
