Change/Reset CNA Password

Your College Network Access (CNA) credentials provide access to the College computers & Wi-Fi, Blackboard, Office 365 & College email, U-Pass BC on Compass Card, Learning Centre website, Career Hub, MediaSite and Citrix. Since the CNA credentials allow access to so many services, it’s important to ensure your login is as secure as possible.

Douglas College requires you to set up a password with at least 15 characters. To make it easier to remember, use a passphrase — a sequence of random words that may contain mixed case, numbers and punctuation (e.g. BestApplePieParis2009 or NeverWatchedAmericanIdol!). If you’re not yet using a passphrase, consider changing it to one now.

How to register an email for password reset

If you forget your CNA password, you can reset it without depending on the CEIT Help Desk. But you’ll need to have a personal email registered in the Self-Service for Password Reset. To register an email:
  1. Go to https://sspr-reg.douglascollege.ca
  2. Enter your CNA credentials.
  3. Click Login, then Next.
  4. Enter your password again, and click Next.
  5. If a personal email address is not listed or if the email address listed is in the format @portal.douglas.bc.ca, enter a new personal email address that doesn’t end with @student.douglascollege.ca or @douglascollege.ca.
  6. Click Next to register this email.

NOTE: your email is now registered.

How to reset your CNA password

If you forget your password and have registered an email in the Self-Service for Password Reset, you can reset it on your own. Just remember the reset will affect all services using the same password (e.g., Office 365, Wi-Fi and Compass Card). To reset your password:
  1. Go to https://sspr.douglascollege.ca/
  2. Enter your username, and click Next.
    NOTE: a new screen will ask for a security code that has just been sent to the email registered at https://sspr-reg.douglascollege.ca.
  3. Enter the security code found in your email, and click Next.
  4. Enter and re-enter your new password, which must be at least 15 characters (for increased security, include mixed case, numbers and punctuation).
  5. Click Next.

NOTE: you can log in with the new password.
If you don’t have an email address registered in the Self-Service for Password Reset, you’ll need to contact the Help Desk at 604-527-5330.

How to change your CNA password

If you remember your password, want to change it and are using a College computer on campus:
  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and click Change a password.
  2. Enter your current password.
  3. Enter your new password or passphrase, which must be at least 15 characters (for increased security, include mixed case, numbers and punctuation).
  4. Click the arrow button to submit the change.
    NOTE: Windows will confirm that your password was successfully changed.
  5. Click OK to return to your desktop.
