IT Services


The technology services available on campus are provided by the Centre for Educational and Information Technology (CEIT), department staffed by a team of skilled professionals, most with computer technology backgrounds. Here’s a summary of the services:



Learn how to access myAccount, Douglas network, Blackboard, Wi-Fi, U-Pass BC on Compass Card, Citrix and MediaSite. You'll also find out how to register additional email addresses, a cellphone number or the Google Authenticator app to receive verification codes — remember to check the password requirements.


Learn how to connect to the Douglas College Internal network. It’s a one-step process, so your device will be automatically connected every time you’re on campus.


Get on-campus technology support through co-op students enrolled in computing studies and information systems. They can help you with ID cards, logins, computer functionality, printing, wireless and connectivity at both campuses.


Check the location and operating hours of these labs. To log in to any computers, use your College Network Access (CNA) credentials. Also, remember that your files are automatically deleted from the hard drive when you log off, so always save them to OneDrive in Office 365.


Learn about the software available to registered students, including Office 365, which gives you free access to Office applications in the Canadian cloud. Included in this service is 1 Terabyte of OneDrive storage space — it’s enough to store an essay of 85 million pages or 300,000 photos.


Learn where to find and how to use PayPrint stations. You’ll need them if you reach the limit of 300 black & white pages that you can print for free per semester.


Adopt safe habits online to avoid being a victim of hackers and threats such as phishing. One of the best practices is to create passphrases instead of regular passwords for all your accounts. Passphrases are easier to remember.
