Faculty and Staff

Are you wanting to include career development or employment concepts into your classroom topics? We can help! Our services include the following:

Career Development Workshops
One-hour employment-related workshops can be presented to your student groups on a variety of topics such as resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing tips, job search strategies, or creating a LinkedIn account. Workshops can be arranged Monday through Friday to meet your needs.

Classroom Visits / Career Centre Introduction
Our staff would love to visit your class and give a five minute introduction about the resources and services we offer to Douglas College students and alumni.

Employer Events

We can assist in the planning of any employer-related event that you think may benefit your students (e.g. industry specific speed networking sessions, guest speakers, etc.)

Job Board
The Career Centre offers an online job posting board for employers to post off-campus work opportunities. This system is user-friendly and designed to connect students or alumni with employers offering full-time, part-time, temporary/summer, and volunteer work opportunities.

For more information on the above, please contact us at careercentre@douglascollege.ca or 604-527-5889.

Students are more likely to attend events and use career services when we encourage them. We appreciate your support in promoting the following services:

  • Appointments for one-on-one career/job search assistance (Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 3:30pm)
  • Weekly training workshops on resume and cover letter writing, job search techniques and interview skills (Monday to Thursday from 12:30 to 1:15pm)
  • Online job board featuring off-campus work and volunteer opportunities
  • Mock interview practice
  • Job fairs and employer networking events
  • Career Centre LinkedIn group to support student/grad job search
