International Student Welcome Hub:

Welcome to Canada! We know that coming to a new country can be overwhelming, so we want to provide you with the tools and resources to help make your transition to your new life a little easier. Drop in any time between 10:00am-2:00pm in the Fishbowl at the New Westminster campus to grab a warm beverage, sign-up for health insurance (this is mandatory), learn about tenancy in BC, working in Canada and much more!

Study Permit Scanning:

Attention International Students! Come see the Douglas International staff and volunteers to get your study permit scanned ANYTIME between 10:00am-2:00pm during Welcome Week:

January 2nd: New Westminster Concourse & Coqutilam Atrium

January 3rd: New Westminster Concourse & Coquitlam Atrium

January 4th: New Westminster Concourse only

*Please note that it is mandatory for you to get your study permit scanned.

Immigration 101:

All students are expected to concentrate on their studies, but international students have the added duty of having to navigate the Canadian immigration system. Join Douglas International's Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors for an interactive workshop on immigration and how to make sure that you are compliant with your temporary residency conditions.

The same workshop will be offered 3 times (two times in New Westminster and once in Coquitlam) during Welcome Week, so you only need to attend once.

*Please note this is not a workshop on permanent residency.
