Project Based Training Program

Who is the Employment Skills Access Program for?

  • Unemployed, non-Employment Insurance clients, who have not established a claim in the past three years, or five years in the case of maternity/parental leave or
  • Employed, low-skilled individuals who are marginally/minimally employed who may qualify on an exceptional basis

What will participants gain?

  • Funding for course fees, classroom materials and transportation supports
  • Essential Skills pre-requisites for successful employment
  • Training to improve  your basic qualifications
  • Provincial and industry-recognized certification credentials
  • Individual referrals and resources including ongoing support
  • Information regarding your preferred trade or profession in BC and Canada
  • Professional job search assistance

Eligibility to Apply?

  • Unemployed, not in receipt of Employment Insurance in the past three years
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Be living in British Columbia
  • Not be a student (i.e. enrolled in high school or post-secondary training)
  • Not currently participating in another LMA funded program
  • Applications must have current government issued photo identification
