Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade was founded in 1960 and in April 2013, upon being granted University Status by the Ministry of Education, was renamed the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE). SUIBE offers a unique learning opportunity to our students. Douglas College students who exchange to SUIBE study Douglas College Business courses taught by Douglas College instructors! In addition to studying academic business courses, student also take language and culture courses.

Exchange students live on campus at the international student residences. SUIBE offers two semesters for study: Spring Semester (starts approx. mid-to-late February and runs through mid-June) and Fall (starts approx. early-September and runs through January).
