Academic & Professional Profile

Kate earned her MSc from the University of Texas. Her thesis research examined the impact of formalized exercise prescription in healthcare settings on physical activity adoption in primary care patients. In addition to being an instructor at Douglas College, Kate works on community-based research through her private health promotion consulting firm. Her research interests are in population health, sedentary behaviour reduction, and physical activity in older adults. She is currently involved in a multi-phase research project with the BC Centre for Hip Health, using wearable technology to promote physical activity adoption and adherence.
