Techniques in Fitness Assessment

Interest in personal health has undergone tremendous growth in the past decade or two. With this interest in personal health comes the affirmation of how one compares to individuals around them. In addition, many individuals may have had specific fitness programs designed for them but may have lacked one of the most important pre-requisites for any training regimen, a complete fitness assessment, vital to identify what areas of fitness they may need to focus on to optimize their health or training. Further, re-testing after the implementation of a training program will provide them with information on whether the current program is producing results as identified in positive changes in the re-test assessment scores. As no one particular assessment technique is best for all individuals, it is important to have a fundamental understanding of a number of different techniques to assess each area of fitness. At the completion of this course, participants will have the tools needed to confidently assess fitness levels of your peers, clients, athletes or maybe even yourself for which more efficient training programs can then be developed and implemented. This course will consist of three sessions:

  1. Session One - Body Composition and Flexibility
  2. Session Two - Strength, Endurance and Power
