The Douglas College Community Music School is made up of highly qualified, experienced teachers, who are carefully selected and regularly evaluated. Many of our instructors teach in Douglas College's Music department and all are active performers.
The College has well-equipped teaching studios, classrooms, rehearsal rooms, practice studios, a piano lab, a MIDI electronic music studio and two professional quality recording studios and equipment. Classes and lessons are held at the New Westminster (NWC) campus. The College Library offers music books, scores, a CD collection, audio and videotapes, as well as computer-assisted learning for ear and rhythm training. Concerts are held in the 350-seat Laura C. Muir Theatre at the New Westminster campus.
The Douglas College Community Music School offers group classes, ensembles and Audio Engineering, as well as private lessons to the college community and prospective DC Music students. We have programs for youths and adults at all levels: beginner through professional. Our students enrolled in private lessons and group classes work toward meeting requirements for college or university entrance, as well as preparing for exams, festivals or competitions, developing career skills or for personal enjoyment.
There are a number of partial scholarships available for students enrolled in the CMS. Please call 604-527-5469 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on any of our offerings.
