Child, Family and Community Studies

Due to recent challenges and changes, many of the social and human services Continuing Education programs you have come to Douglas College for in the past are no longer available with us.  We regret these changes, and have done our best to refer you to program offerings with other organizations and institutions under each program heading on the left.

However, we are pleased to continue to deliver and grow our offerings in the area of Career Development Practice – both the foundation and Advanced Practice certificate programs.

So come and join our exceptional team to explore current issues, trends and challenges in Career Development Practice, and prepare yourself to be part of the changing community in which you work, live and learn.

All courses are delivered in a hybrid format, with classes held at the New Westminster campus (700 Royal Avenue) and online.  The 2016-2017 schedule will be available shortly, and will be posted here.

You may register for individual courses for professional development when they are offered, or may begin the full certificate program at any point during the program.  A link to the Application form is available on the Career Development Practice Certificate Program webpage.

To register in any of our courses, contact CE Registration at 604 527 5472. Payment of the course fee must accompany registration.

For individual companies or organizations, we can also work with you to design, plan and deliver a Career Development Practice professional development course or program to meet the specific learning needs of your agency, and deliver them on your schedule and at the location of your choice.  You may select from our current offerings, or we can customize a professional development course or program.  Course completion certificates and Douglas College transcripts are available for customized professional development training.  For further information or to discuss your training needs, please contact Seanna Quressette, Coordinator, 778 835 4233, or the Program Assistant at 604 527 5479, or by email at cfcsce@douglascollege.ca.
