Strong Start: International Student Orientation provides new students with the opportunity to explore campus, learn about services, and meet other students. This program is designed to help you have a successful and memorable first experience at Douglas College. Orientation registration information will be sent to your email address on file. There are 2 parts to the Strong Start International Student Orientation: 

Part 1: Orientation Workshop Series

These include international student specific workshops and general workshops for all new students (domestic and international)

All times are listed in local Vancouver time. If you are unable to attend any session, recordings and slides will be posted a few days after the workshop has been completed

This is your first of 9 helpful workshops designed specifically for International Students. We will provide an overview of Strong Start: International Student Orientation, introduce you to various parts of the college, and host a Q&A to ask about anything and everything.

Planning on Travelling to Canada? There are a few things to be aware of before you make an informed decision. Point of Entry update for mandatory hotel quarantine stay, submitting your quarantine plans, booking your flight, arriving in YVR, Medical Insurance, and more.

Signing the Online Agreement, updating your study status, using Blackboard, ordering course materials early, planning for time zones, instructors accommodations (for time zones), materials censorship for some countries, using a VPN, etc.

IMPORTANT: For accessibility purposes, there are 4 sessions offered for this workshop, two on Sept. 3 and two on Sept 15. However, you are required to attend only ONE session.
