The Douglas College Archives is the official repository for the historical records of the College. Records created by Douglas College employees are selected for permanent preservation and retention according to the Records and Information Management Policy. Other historical materials of value are also kept in the Archive.
The library is digitizing archival and unique materials to increase use and access to these heritage collections. The digitization of College calendars (1970-2005) has been completed and they are now available online.
The Newspaper Archive collection is a project that is well underway. The Douglas Pinion (1975-1981) has been completed and The Other Press (1976-present) issues are currently being added.
Archives hold original materials in a variety of media and are non-lending institutions. Special measures are needed to ensure the long-term preservation, integrity and accessibility of the archival record.
