UPDATED Feb. 26: Coronavirus information and resources

The College has received questions regarding the Coronavirus from students, faculty and staff. Douglas College is monitoring information and recommendations about the coronavirus from regional and provincial medical health officers. Though there are confirmed cases in BC, the Provincial Health Officer has indicated the overall risk for the province continues to be low.  

Douglas College is actively monitoring the situation and reviewing its pandemic planning to ensure timely response if needed.

**NEW**The latest recommendations from the Provincial Health Officer outlines what students and employees can do to stay healthy during this time. 

In the meantime, we can all practice the usual health precautions, including: 

  • Washing hands with soap and water often. You can also finish with an alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Covering nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or flexed elbow.
  • Staying home when sick to prevent the spread of illness.

Travel considerations

If you are travelling to or from countries with confirmed cases of COVID19, please review the “Travel Advice and Advisories” page on the Government of Canada website to make informed decisions and travel safely while abroad.
