After more than 20 years of no change, Douglas College is adjusting parking fees for both students and employees starting Jan. 1, 2020.
In a two-year phased approach, student parking pass fees will increase to $135 per semester starting Jan. 1, 2020, and then to $180 per semester on Jan. 1, 2021. Employee parking pass fees will increase to $180 per semester on Jan. 1, 2020.
Parking passes paid by employees and students are collected as cost-recovery to maintain safe, accessible and functional parking facilities at both campuses.
In addition to semester parking passes, daily and hourly fees will change to reflect an increase of $5.50 per day and $2.00 per hour. There will no longer be an evening flat rate after 6pm.
Douglas College continues to offer the lowest parking fees of any post-secondary institution in the Lower Mainland.
