Research Funding

Internal Funding

The Research and Scholarly Activity Travel Fund and Research Incentive Grants support research at Douglas College, recognizing what is already being undertaken and providing further funding opportunities to build institutional and faculty capacity. There are typically three annual calls for funding applications in the Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters.

External Funding

External funding is available through the Government’s granting councils known as the Tri-agencies (or Tri-council). The Tri-agencies are made up of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). They are federal granting agencies that support research, research training and innovation in Canadian postsecondary institutions.
